Loading and unloading bikes has never been easier. Our One-Handed Operation, introduced on the Super Duty in 2024, is available on new Quik Rack, Heavy Duty, Roof Rack, or Tandem Roof Rack models—or as an upgrade for the same existing racks with the One-Handed Upgrade Kit or Fat Tire Spacer Kit.
The redesigned glide bar and red lever deliver a smooth press-and-lift action, letting you disengage the ratchet to open or close the arms with one hand. When you’re ready to lock it back in, just push down for a solid click that confirms your bike is secure and ready to roll.
The bent arms can also fold down out of the way without requiring any additional hardware, allowing for easier use with the V-Style Ramp.
Whether it’s a new rack or a trusted favorite, this upgrade means less effort, faster loading, and more time riding.
What does “One-Handed” mean?
One-Handed Operation means you can open and close the rack arms with one hand. Most riders will still want to use their other hand to steady the bike while loading or unloading.
How One-Handed Operation works
Press the red button and lift to disengage the ratchet, letting you open or close the rack arms with one hand.
Push the button back down to re-engage the ratchet, confirming your bike is secure while in use.
When unloading your bike, push the spool into the tire to relieve ratchet pressure and help depress the red button.
