Bikes with FendersUpdated 2 months ago
Our racks are compatible with bikes that have fenders. The ideal setup depends on your specific bike and rack, taking into account the fender’s design, the rack-to-fender clearance, and the bike’s weight.
Watch the video, or check out our recommended options we’ve outlined based on your bike and application to ensure the best fit.
COMPATIBILITY
The best option to carry bikes with fenders would be on our Super Duty (SD) or Xtreme Duty (XD) models. Both of these racks are compatible with the wheel chock, which would be used for contacting the inside of the tire. This will be the most secure and stable option for fenders. The wheel chock can be used on the front or rear tire.

SPOOLS
You can also adjust the spool down the bent arm on the rack to contact a lower point on the tire. The spool does need to be within the racks specified spool range to ensure the bike is secured.

FENDER CUSHION
Another option is to use our fender cushion. This is a great solution if the fender construction is very firm. It allows the arms of the bike rack to compress enough force on the fender and safely support it for travel. This is also a suitable route if the fender is very pliable and the air gap between the tire and inside of the fender is close, allowing the arms to compress the fender to the tire and safely support the bike for travel. If the bikes are heavy and too much pressure is being applied to the fender, you can also add a safety strap.

WHEEL STOP
Lastly, on the Quik Rack (QR) or Heavy Duty (HD) models, you can use the wheel stop as a solution for bikes with a wheel base of 46" or less. We do recommend using a safety strap with this application as well.
